If you had to be stuck in a mountain hut for 3 days, what board game would you take?
"Hmmmmm… LIGRETTOOO 🤌🤌🤌"
Describe your ideal mountain day in three words.
"Sun, friends, and endorphins."
Do you prefer going up or down? and why?
"It really depends on the sport! On skis, I prefer going uphill—partly because my downhill technique is more ‘improvised' than ‘polished', and my quads start screaming halfway down. But when I’m running, definitely downhill—I suffer far less than on the climb. Still, let’s face it: the most satisfying descents are the ones you’ve had to painfully earn first."
Do you have any mountain rituals or superstitions before a big day out?
"I wouldn’t say I have a proper ritual. But I do have a kind of personal mountain routine: pack the bag, repack it, then—just for good measure—rerepack it. I triple-check the gear, triple-check the topo, and quintuple-check the weather forecast, as if my obsessive refreshing could somehow change it. And even if everything is ready, I’ll still set my alarm unnecessarily early, just to have the luxury of a slow, unrushed morning."
What do the mountains give you that everyday life doesn't?
"Oh, what a philosophical question! I love it. Hmm, I guess it’s that sense of freedom—where you have no obligations to anyone, just existing in the moment, feeling alive. All the “sea level problems” and daily stress fade away. Being up there feels like hitting a reset button for my brain. It’s super important for me to take these escapes; they help me find balance amid the usual rush of life!"
